Today, We held English discussion activity "Express Yourself in English !", heard, talked about and sang a song in English, which lead by Yuko-san, a Jazz singer.
All of you who participated, thank you.
Today's theme song was "Over The Rainbow".
"Over the Rainbow" is a ballad written for the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz, and sung by actress Judy Garland in her starring role as Dorothy Gale. The song became one of the most enduring standards of the 20th century.
In this charming film "The Wizard of Oz", Dorothy and her dog Toto are caught in a tornado's path and somehow end up in the land of Oz. Here she meets some memorable friends and foes in her journey to meet the Wizard of Oz who everyone says can help her return home and possibly grant her new friends their goals of a brain, heart and courage.
In the lyrics of "Over the Rainbow", there are many meny "the".
Yuko-san advised us it is better to pronounce "Da" than to pronounced "Za".
Then we were divided into two groups and did group discussion.
This discussion theme was associated with the lines that Dorothy said in a movie.
One was "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kanzas any more."
Then, we shared some "the Land of Oz" moment, about experience to feel that it was different from one's home.
Second was "There is no place like home."
Then, we shared some "Oh, I'm home!" moment, about experience to feel that it was one's home.
Do you have any experience ?
