Today, We held English discussion activity "Express Yourself in English !", heard, talked about and sang a song in English, which lead by Yuko-san, a Jazz singer.
All of you who participated, thank you.

Today's theme song was "Moon River".

This song was once took up in "Express Yourself in English !" very very first time.

"Moon River" is written with lyricist Johnny Mercer grew up in Gerogia, he imaged a real river in Savannah.
The river was known as The Back River, but was renamed Moon River in honor of the song.

The lyrics of "Moon River" are easy to understand the constitution of the rhyme.



The word "huckleberry friend" is the metaphor called the friend in the days of the child who goes on a picnic together in the hills and fields, and picks up "huckleberry", and played with.

Therefore, The questions for pair-works that prepared by Yuko-san were talk about "childhood".
After the pair-work, we shared the Best memory of one's childhood each other.

毎月金曜日に開催しています英語でディスカッションするクラブ活動、「Express Yourself in English !」

「Express Yourself in English !」は、「英語でしゃべる」
からさらに一歩進んで、「英語を使って会話する」ことを体得できるクラブ活動です。
ひとつのテーマについて話す「ディスカッションスタイル」の会話は、英語でスモールトークをする時にとても役立つ会話法です。
当クラブ活動では、ジャズやフォークのスタンダードナンバーをテーマとして使いながら、テーマの歌の歌詞をヒアリングで聞き取り、発音に気をつけて実際に歌い、その歌にまつわるパラグラフをもとに実際に英語で会話を行うことを通じて、「ディスカッションのノウハウ」をジャズシンガーの古山 祐子さんに教えていただきます。
ディスカッションできるスキルは、英語を使った会話においてはもちろん、日本語を使った会話のスキルアップにつながると実感できる、会話力アップにお薦めのアクティヴィティです。

本日、３月11日（金）に開催します。
今回のテーマソングは「Moon River」です。
一度取り上げた曲ですが、新しいメンバーもたくさん参加してくださっているので、また違ったディスカッションに発展するのでは？　と期待できる曲です。
