Today, We held English discussion activity "Express Yourself in English !", heard, talked about and sang a song in English, which lead by Yuko-san, a Jazz singer.
All of you who participated, thank you.

Today's theme song was "Do-Re-Mi".

"Do-Re-Mi" is one of the songs of the musical "sound of music" and is a song sung in the scene where Maria teacher who is the heroine tells children of the trap family the name of musical notes (do-re-mi) by  Maria and children.
The beginning of the lyrics of each bar becomes "Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti" and uses an English word of the same pronunciation. 

We did pair work to do three follow-up questions for the answer of the partner more, After having asked the question that Yuko-san prepared for,

Then We discussed the follow question in all the members,
Children needs punishment when they don't behave. 

But we were able to discuss it in deep.

毎月金曜日に開催しています英語でディスカッションするクラブ活動、「Express Yourself in English !」

「Express Yourself in English !」は、「英語でしゃべる」
からさらに一歩進んで、「英語を使って会話する」ことを体得できるクラブ活動です。
ひとつのテーマについて話す「ディスカッションスタイル」の会話は、英語でスモールトークをする時にとても役立つ会話法です。
当クラブ活動では、ジャズやフォークのスタンダードナンバーをテーマとして使いながら、テーマの歌の歌詞をヒアリングで聞き取り、発音に気をつけて実際に歌い、その歌にまつわるパラグラフをもとに実際に英語で会話を行うことを通じて、「ディスカッションのノウハウ」をジャズシンガーの古山 祐子さんに教えていただきます。
ディスカッションできるスキルは、英語を使った会話においてはもちろん、日本語を使った会話のスキルアップにつながると実感できる、会話力アップにお薦めのアクティヴィティです。

本日、９月２日（金）に開催します。
９月のテーマソングは「Do-Re-Mi」です。
ミュージカル「サウンド オブ ミュージック」から生まれた名曲のひとつで、日本でも有名な歌です。
この曲にはどんな背景があり、そしてどんなディスカッションテーマが用意されるのでしょう？

みなさんも祐子さんの歌を聴き取り、そして伴奏に合わせて歌い、さらに英語でのディスカッションする体験を愉しんでみませんか♪
