Today, We held English discussion activity "Express Yourself in English !" which is intended to enjoy small talk "Zatsu-Dan" in English, through listening to, talking about and singing a song in English, which lead by Yuko-san, a Jazz singer.
All of you who participated, thank you.
Today's theme song was "Bridge Over Troubled Water".
"Bridge over Troubled Water" is the song that Simon & Garfunkel released in 1970.
This song is the 3rd single song for Simon & Garfunkel to become U.S. first place acquisition, and it was the biggest hit.
There is much music released to become the comfort when someone faced difficulty such as "Day Is Done", "Let It Be ", "You've Got A Friend" from 1969 through 1971, but, in particular, this music is well known.
"Bridge Over Troubled Water" consisted of three parts in total, but we listened to and sang two first, today.
"water" is the word that pronunciation is different from British English in American English,
and Yuko-san recommended American style pronunciation for singing this song.
The contents of the lyrics sing the friendship "A friend in need is a friend indeed".
So, today's discussion theme was "Friendship".
We discussed the 10 questions which Yuko-san made for today, at first pair up, then share in the group.
And at last, we discussed the question which Yuko-san gave us;
"What dose "Good friend" mean to you?"
Our answer were,
"Sharing times", "Feel grad for your friend", ”treat unchanged”, "grow up together", "can tell the truth", and so on.
We thank you all of who shared time pleasant discussions.
The next is June 9.
See YOU Next time !
